ABOUT MARCUS RIVERA
2022 Sydney Theatre Award nominee, Marcus Rivera is a versatile singer and actor having performed in classical music, musical theatre, stage, cabaret, film, and TV.
In 2019 he won Best Actor at the Made in the West Film Festival for the lead role of Norman in the short film Tom Girl. In the same year, he performed the lead role of The Engineer in the musical Miss Saigon for Showbiz Christchurch, a role he performed in the Cameron Mackintosh production of Miss Saigon in Australia (2007-08) and for Packemin Production in 2017.
He has worked with various companies including Darlinghurst Theatre (Let the right one in – Swing), FEM Production (Thai-riffic – Dad / Grandma), Sydney Film Company (Jade Butterfly – Junior), Mc Fadden Music (Noli Me Tangere – Elias / Assistant Director), Patina Production (Company – Larry), Plushduck Production (NED The Musical – Superintendent Hare), Opera Australia/John Frost (The King and I – Kralahome Cover), Wise Goat Productions (The Wild Orchards – Jinju), Opera Queensland (Sweeny Todd), The Production Company (The King and I, Anything Goes – John), Melbourne City Opera and ABC Network (Rewind – Mei Quong Tart).
Marcus is the recipient of the 2012 City of Sydney’s COUNTER TENOR AWARD’. In 2017 Marcus performed in the IBLA Grand Prize held in Ragusa, Italy, and presented the Philippine ‘Kundiman’ repertoire. He was awarded the ‘MOST DISTINGUISHED MUSICIAN’ for his performance. His more recent work as Jovy in Ate Lovia by Jordan Shea for KWENTO / Redline Production in 2022 received a Sydney Theatre Award nomination for Best Performer in a Supporting Role in an Independent Production. Marcus performed his shows UNCOVERED and I Don’t Want to do This F#ck&ng Show as part of the Sydney Fringe Festival this year at Riverside Theatre. Passionate about the Filipino-Australian community, he is a well-known community event host and performs for worthwhile charity projects.

Ellen Buckley
Ellen started playing the piano professionally as a freelance accompanist and pit musician for productions including 13 with Hills Musical Theatre Company (2018), Tarzan with Sydney Youth Musical Theatre (2018), Jersey Boys with Blue Mountains Musical Society (2021), The Addams Family with Sydney Youth Musical Theatre (2022), and Mamma Mia! with Pymble Ladies’ College (2022). Her breakthrough role in the world of cabaret came in 2022 when she was the Musical Director of As We Stumble Along with Lambert House Enterprises. Since then, she has continued to work as a Musical Director for the cabaret shows It’s A Musical (2022), The Story of Tonight (2023), and A World of Entertainment (2024). Ellen also works as a full-time Performing Arts teacher.
